I was recently talking to a client and was told, “I don’t do social media.”
I stopped for a second and thought about that. I have been a part of social media since I was in middle school and AIM was the big thing. I understand that if you didn’t grow up with that as a part of your development that there would be a tendency to think that social networks aren’t important.
But if you have been in an industry or job position in which the economic decline has impacted your job and your ability to make money, then you suddenly realize that you will use any means in order to make connections and potentially find work.
I looked at the client and said, “You used to not do social media. If you want this idea to succeed, that has to change.”
