For a classic like The Great Gatsby, there are always going to be people who don’t like the way the story transformed from words on the page to screenplay.

I am not one of those people.

The powerful imagery of the story literally being written during the movie was incredible. It was dauntingly good in the fantastical cinematography and the green light followed me to my dreams.

I heard some people leaving the movie theaters disappointed because the story didn’t have a happy ending and I can understand. I was shocked myself when I read the book and I wanted to say, “That’s it??”

But isn’t that part of the point of the book. We only have a short time to “boat on” and we can do it carelessly like some or we can do it holding onto the hope that tomorrow all our dreams will come true.

I’m going with the latter.
